About
Nomzia grew up in Short Creek, Utah. She is known publicly as Naomi "Nomz" Bistline, and she is legally changing her name to Nomzia.
She speaks from lived experience: leaving a closed religious community, telling the truth in public, and building a life of her own. She works with a vocal coach, writes and sings, and has started modeling.
Trust Me: The False Prophet
Nomzia appears in the Netflix documentary series Trust Me: The False Prophet (2026), directed by Rachel Dretzin. The four-part series follows the exposure of Samuel Bateman, a self-proclaimed prophet in a breakaway FLDS group.
She is the only one of Bateman's wives who agreed to be interviewed on camera. She and Moretta Johnson were the only two of his adult wives who later testified against him.
"I'm willing to put my pain and comfort aside in order to bring awareness." Nomz Bistline, Netflix Tudum
